Snacks, species, and staying tidy

February was all about giving your pet a bit more personality — and giving you a little more to look after. Pets now come in different species and types, food has opinions, the farm grew deeper, and yes, your cozy room can finally get messy.

Every pet is a little more itself

Pets now belong to different species and types, so the creature you raise feels less like a generic blob and more like a character with its own leanings. It is an early step toward the bigger goal: playthroughs that end in genuinely different creatures, shaped by how you care for them across the 7-day cycle.

Food with feelings

The kitchen got a lot more interesting. Every pet now has taste preferences — favorite dishes it lights up for, and foods it would rather push around the plate. Serve a dish it loves and you will feel the difference in its mood; keep feeding it something it dislikes and, well, you will hear about it.

This ties the whole loop together nicely. What you grow on the farm, what you cook, and what you serve now actually matter to the pet in front of you.

The farm keeps growing

Speaking of the farm: it got deeper this month.

  • More crop variety to plant, water, and grow over several days.
  • Storing crops, so a good harvest is not wasted.

It is starting to feel like a proper farm-to-table routine — grow it, cook it, feed it, and watch your pet react.

A room that needs tidying

Here is the part that keeps you on your toes: the room can get messy now. Dust and little messes build up over time, and a neglected room slowly chips away at your pet's health. Sweep up, clean the messes, and keep the place cozy — a tidy room is a happy, healthy pet.

It is a small thing, but it makes the daily visit feel more alive. Your pet's home reflects the care you put into it.

Getting the house in order

Not everything this month was visible on screen. I also spent a good chunk of February getting the house in order behind the scenes — tidying things up and writing down how the pieces fit together, so future updates land faster and with fewer surprises.

Less glamorous than a new crop or a picky eater, sure, but it is the kind of quiet work that keeps a solo project moving steadily. And it means more of the fun stuff, sooner.

That is it for this one. Next up: more ways for your pet to show off exactly who it is turning into. See you in the next devlog.
